Infinity is a Japanese made automobile from the luxury division of Nissan. It was introduced in the United States in 1989. It was introduced around the same time that Toyota and Honda introduced the Lexus and Acura, respectively. The first Infiniti was the the Q45. The M30 was their second model, introduced in 1990, in competition to the Toyota Lexus SC. In 1991, they brought out the Infiniti G20, an upgrade with a leather interior package. In 1993, a four door vehicle, the J30, debuted. In 1997 came the QX4, which made them the first to offer a mid-sized luxury SUV. In 2003, the G35 was introduced. That year it was voted Motor Trend Car of the Year. Later that year, they also released the sport-tuned FX35/45 crossover. These vehicles were very successful and pushed Infiniti to the top.
Infiniti chose to sponsor the Renault engines for Red Bull Racing for the 2011 Formula One season. Today, Infinity is sold in over fifteen countries throughout the world. They make coupes, sedans and the new crossovers, which are a hybrid sedan and SUV.
