Chevrolet is a brand of General Motors Corporation. Originally founded by Louis Chevrolet and the GM founder William C. Durant on November 3, 1911, General Motors acquired Chevrolet in 1918. Chevrolet was made to sell a lineup of mainstream vehicles to directly compete against Henry Ford's Model T in the 1920s. Chevrolet first used the "bowtie emblem" logo in 1913. It was designed from wallpaper Durant once saw in a French hotel. Because Chevrolet had differences of opinion over designs, he then sold the company to Durant in 1915. By 1916, Chevrolet was profitable enough to allow Durant to repurchase a controlling interest in General Motors. After the deal was completed in 1917, Durant became president of General Motors, and Chevrolet was merged into GM as a separate division.

What car or truck are you looking to sell or buy?

Chevrolet automobiles competed with Ford and Chrysler well into the 1950’s. It introduced the Corvette in 1953, which was a two-seater sports car made of fiberglass. After also introducing the Corvair, one out of ten cars sold in the United States in 1963 was a Chevrolet. Most recently, they are producing more fuel efficient automobiles. One is the Chevy VOLT: this is a plug-in hybrid automobile. It can travel up to fifty miles on its lithium battery. Once the battery is depleted, the gasoline engine takes over. Sales are booming for Chevrolet.
